Hot Off the Burner
The galena in this jewellery was hand collected by me during a summer spent in Sandon: an old ghost town near New Denver BC.
Sandon was once a great city; one of the biggest in BC, and was built as a mining hub after the discovery of a giant Galena nugget. Pieces of Galena- or “silver” still riddle the mountain sides in this Valley of the Ghosts.
Galena has been set into stainless steel hardware.
*Galena is a lead sulphide- however is safe to handle, it only poses a risk if inhaled or ingested. Do not eat or snuff the jewellery.
*These are sent via untracked letter mail, it may take up to 10 days to receive the parcel. You will not receive a tracking number as they are not trackable. Sending via letter mail keeps the costs and price points down for the customer.

Potentially one of the cutest pieces I’ve created; Featuring two gophers embracing in a field of wildflowers.
Measuring 4 ¾” across the surface, and 6 ¾” tall, and ¼” thick.

Display Hardware
The fur textures of the gophers stand out from the foliage, creating a level of depth to the piece and giving it a realistic look. Care has been paid to the fur patterns and shadows, and the foliage is intricate and layered.
There is no bark or live edging on this piece.

Inspired by my first morel motivated outing this year, where I had encountered a cheeky little friend in one of the burn zones I’d been scouring.
Depicting a chipmunk amidst burnt trees and morels, this piece features layers of depth and details within the subject and background.

Finished with linseed oil
Attention has been carefully paid to each individual petal and leaf, creating a textured and realistic look. The warm tones of the wood have been accentuated with a linseed oil finish.
The Cherry Slab is live edge- minus one section in the lower right where the bark has fallen off due to beetle activity when the tree was whole. The lines made from the beetles are an artwork in itself, and attribute to the ‘Nature’ themes and inspiration behind my pieces.
