I’ve been wood burning since 2018, when I was gifted a pyrography machine from my partner at the time. I wasn’t so artistically motivated then, and it seemed intimidating to try, so it sat on my shelf for a few years before I even felt the motivation to give it a go. Once I did try it felt a bit awkward at first, but I surprised myself with how naturally I progressed. A friend of mine then let me test out her Razertip machine with one of the knife tips, and as soon as I made my first line on the wood my fate was sealed. I was hooked. It felt natural, like I’d already been doing it my whole life.
Since then I’ve fought for my place among the top pyrography artists worldwide, amassing a large social media following for my work. My attention and dedication to fine and complex details creates realistic and lifelike pieces, and my work is recognized as some of the best.

I find my artistic inspiration within the surrounding forests and mountains of my home in the BC wilderness; foraging for mushrooms and plants, and encountering the local wildlife. There’s a diverse range of ecosystems; each boasting their own unique worlds of plants and animals. Most of the plants and animals in my pieces are ones I have personally encountered or interacted with, and I use my own photos for reference whenever possible.

I live high up on a mountain in a small town of 4000 people. Rossland is part of the Kootenay’s[Koot-Nee]: an 80,000 km area covering the SouthEastern corner of BC, known for it’s quaint small towns nestled among mountainous terrain and expansive forests, with abundant lakes and rivers intermingled throughout. It’s a utopia for outdoor recreation, hunting, foraging, and peaceful or remote living.

My art is not limited to pyrography, and I dabble in a variety of side projects- all also inspired by the wilds around my home. I collect and use wild organic materials in which to create jewellery and other items; always trying out new artistic avenues.

I’m grateful to live in such an abundantly inspiring place.
