The galena in this jewellery was hand collected by me during a summer spent in Sandon: an old ghost town near New Denver BC. Sandon was once a great city; one of the biggest in BC, and was built as a mining hub after the discovery of a giant Galena nugget. Pieces of Galena- or “silver” still riddle the mountain sides in this Valley of the Ghosts.
Galena has been set into stainless steel hardware.
*Galena is a lead sulphide- however is safe to handle, it only poses a risk if inhaled or ingested. Do not eat or snuff the jewellery.
