Polypore Toad and oyster

Burned by hand on a naturally grown polypore mushroom canvas, featuring a western toad and an oyster mushroom. This polypore had a unique shape that reminded me of oyster mushrooms, so I leaned into it and designed the piece around that concept. Very Meta- mushrooms made into other mushrooms and photographed on other mushrooms.

• Hand Burned on a red belt polypore Mushroom harvested from the Kootenays

• Measures 6” x 4” across the image surface area of the mushroom, and 3” wide across the base.

• Piece stands upright unassisted on a flat surface

• Fine detailing and textures to the image creating a realistic effect.

• Mushroom has been thoroughly dried and heat treated to kill off pathogens
